Photosynthetic glucose-production limit

Blankenship et al. 2011 calculate a theoretical limit of about 12 % for the free-energy efficiency of photosynthetic glucose production from CO₂ and water by considering the chlorophyll band-edge absorption and the two-photosystem structure of oxygenic photosynthesis, whose two photosystems compete for the same regions of the solar spectrum. Compared only with a datum that states the same basis.
