Energy and exergy analysis of Unit 3 of the Al-Mosyab thermal power station (Iraq, completed 1990, four 300 MW units, running at ≈ 65 % of rated capacity) at 225 MW load, solved in Engineering Equation Solver from the unit's readings — Table 1: main steam 168 kg/s at 152 bar and 539 °C, crude-oil fuel 14.68 kg/s at NCV 10,074 kcal/kg, condenser 0.1 bar, cooling water 24 °C, 3000 rpm (design, Table 2: 300 MW, 170 bar, 538 °C, 0.0653 bar, 23 °C; the model reproduces the design point within 1.33 %). Results (Table 4): cycle thermal efficiency 39.3 %, second-law efficiency 34.91 %, exergy destruction 412.68 MW, boiler thermal efficiency 94 %; the text quotes 39.91 % and Figure 2's condenser-pressure sweep runs from 39.39 % at 0.06 bar to 37.97 % at 0.24 bar. The efficiency is a first-law computation of the readings, not a metered figure.
