Thermogalvanic effect
Two identical electrodes in the same redox electrolyte held at different temperatures develop a potential difference, because the reaction entropy makes the redox potential temperature-dependent. Coefficients of ~1 mV/K are typical, ten times a solid thermocouple.

Relations
- two identical electrodes in one redox electrolyte held at different temperatures
- a redox couple with large reaction entropy (ferri/ferrocyanide gives ≈ −1.4 mV/K)
Matrix context
D = disequilibrium row · C = coupling family column. A cell reads the state of the atlas for that pair.
