Metadata verified on Crossref; abstract read on OpenAlex. NEMD: thermal gradients polarize liquid and supercritical acetonitrile, a stationary electrostatic potential building up between hot and cold regions; near standard conditions the thermal polarization coefficient is ≈ −0.6 mV/K, so gradients of ≈ 1 K/µm give fields of ≈ 10³ V/m; the heat–polarization coupling lowers the thermal conductivity by ≈ 2–5 %. Simulation, a second polar liquid.
