Permeate-gap thermo-osmotic generator (PGTO)

A permeate-gap membrane-distillation module pressurises its own permeate into an elevated tank; the released stream drives a small hydro-turbine generator (Xiao et al. 2024, 32 cm², a 2 W-rated bulb lit at about 1.5 m head). Gravitational storage sits between the thermo-osmotic flow and the turbine, so it is a longer-chain relative of the TOEC composition.
