Read in full (21/09/2026). 'A steam-water mixture is produced when very pure water (reactor coolant) moves upward through the core, absorbing heat. The steam-water mixture leaves the top of the core and enters the two stages of moisture separation before the steam is allowed to enter the steamline', which directs it to the main turbine; the condensate is pumped, reheated and returned to the reactor vessel. The direct-boiling topology: the reactor coolant itself is the turbine's steam.
