Pressurized Water Reactors — how a typical commercial PWR works
Atlas use: this web is cited as evidence by 2 claims and 3 named pathways. No DOI or URL on record; not machine-verifiable.
Read in full (21/09/2026). 'Pressurized water in the primary coolant loop carries the heat to the steam generator. Inside the steam generator, heat from the primary coolant loop vaporizes the water in a secondary loop, producing steam', which the steamline directs to the main turbine. The two-circuit topology: fission heats a pressurised liquid, and a heat exchanger — not the core — makes the turbine's steam.
